I'm not sure if you've seen any of the beatboxing flute's videos, but if you haven't I have one (of many) posted below...
I've been waiting for a CD to be released and finally the time has come. Greg Pattillo has joined a group called Project, consisting of himself, Peter Seymour on Bass and Eric Stephenson on Cello. I ordered their CD on the 17th via CD Baby and eagerly await it's arrival. You can sample the CD on Project's CD Baby page at http://cdbaby.com/cd/projectmusic. Hopefully the Winter In June, the title of their album, isn't held up at the US/Canada customs -- that'd make me not so happy
My buddy Lucas has been back in the Sarnia area for the past five weeks after his first year St. Stephens University, and is about to head out to work at a summer camp called Keats Camps for the rest of the summer as the mountain bike program director. He's been wanting a blog that he can post his thoughts and keep us (friends and family) posted on whats happening since the long distance fees are ridiculous. So if you would like to check it out click on his name in the blogroll, or click here, Lucas Walters.
So just wanted to drop a short posted about how amazing Cadence was live. There's a lot you pick up out of a live performance -- one thing that shocked me was that all the members of Cadence could beat box and emulation multiple instrumental sounds. The more I think about it the more sense it makes. Since there are two tenors, one baritone and one bass vocalist(s) it only makes sense that they can flip around "vocal drummers", as it were, so they can accommodate the different ranges. I ended up buying both CDs, even though I had already pirated them -- such music deserves to be supported . They announced that there were in the process of throwing together a new CD, and although no formal date is set, I am very excited to see what songs they will do.
